Youโ€™re depressed, frustrated, life is bleakโ€ฆ you find yourself saying/thinking:

โ€œIโ€™m so overweightโ€

โ€œIโ€™m getting oldโ€

โ€œThey must think Iโ€™ve let myself goโ€

โ€œThey will pick this outfit to deathโ€

โ€œThey canโ€™t possibly still love meโ€ฆ look at me!โ€

STOP ๐Ÿ›‘ Your Self-image matters

Having a negative self-image will influence your self-esteem.

In turn, having low self-esteem is usually accompanied by an unhealthy negative self-image.

Your self-image is based on your perceptions of reality.

Your self image is built over our lifetime and continues to change as you do, and it is definitely something you can have some influence overโ€ฆ

How you see yourself & think of yourself

How you interpret how others see you or think of you

Your perception of your ideal self

When you feel bad about yourselves, your perception of yourself suffers and you start to feel pretty bad about yourself and your life in general.

Here is one exercise i encourage you to start today

At approximately 4 pm, grab paper & pen & write down the below:

  • One good thing that happened to me todayโ€ฆ
  • Something good that I saw someone doโ€ฆ
  • Today I had fun whenโ€ฆ
  • Something I accomplished todayโ€ฆ
  • Something funny that happened todayโ€ฆ
  • Someone I was thankful for today

The other thing I encourage is positive self talkโ€ฆ we will start this journey by questioning our negative self talk:

How you see yourself is a huge contributing factor to how you feel about yourself.

It is how you perceive yourself.
In its simplest form itโ€™s when you look in the mirror, and more complex form is how you perceive yourself in your mind.
