You hold back from entering discussions & fearing someone may contradict you, call you out or worst still, ridicule you.
Then those thought creeps into your headโฆ
โWhat if they find out I’m an imposterโ
“I don’t belong here,”
“I don’t deserve this,”

Impostor syndrome is the idea that youโve only succeeded due to luck, and not because of your personality, talent or qualifications โฆ.
You fell into it, you believe youโre not enough & youโll be discovered as a fraud.
But what are you missing out on because you feel like an impostor?
This fear is holding you back, and hiding your true magnificence from the world.

When helping clients overcome imposter syndrome one of the first steps we take is to acknowledge the thoughts and put them in perspective.
Once awareness is made, we come up with a strategy that reassures you that you are exactly where you belong & worthy.
We use questions to combat the imposter talk. Questions I encourage are โDoes this thought help or hinder me?โ Or โIs this thought 100% truth?โ
Clients often remark how helpful they find it is to talk openly & share their imposter thoughts, & work through their imposter feelings.
I reassure you that your feelings are ๐ฏ normal and that most people experience moments of self-doubt
The most important thing is that we no longer allowing the doubt to control your actions & we work on taking back your personal power.
My goal is to arm you with the tools, the insight and the information to turn those impostor thoughts around before they cripple you and stop you from living.

Exercises to work through Impostor thoughts ….
1)ย Write down the top three accomplishments that you are most proud of, and under each, describe how hard you had to work and what you had to sacrifice to achieve of those amazing things. Let it sink in how very much you deserved every one of them!
2) Come up with a positive affirmation to combat the statements of self-doubt that pop into your head. So, if the thought, “What if they find out I’m an imposter and I don’t deserve this?” creeps into your head, then write down affirmations such as: I am worthy; I am enough; I am talented; I deserve this. Find what most directly combats your thoughts of self-doubt. Write it down and read it countless times each day.
